NOW HIRING: Certificate 1 in Conservation & Ecosystem Management

🌿Would you love to work with a team to protect our natural areas and restore ecosystems on a range of sites from hinterland rainforests to the dunes?
🌿Are you looking to complete a qualification while you work?

If you answered yes, our Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management is the job for you!
 
Starting in January 2024 we have 11 Conservation & Ecosystem Management Certificate 1 traineeship program places, delivered over 22 weeks. These full-time positions offer trainees not only the opportunity to get paid while learning and working in some the regions best ecosystems, but also obtain their Agricultural Control & Distribution of Chemicals (ACDC) licence, Construction white card and chainsaw qualifications.
 
This position is an initiative by the Skilling for Queenslanders program and aims to upskill job seekers in the Sunshine Coast region. The position may be physically demanding at times and requires a person who is fit, energetic, and flexible.

As the weather warms up, our local platypus will become more active as they compete and search for mates, making this month a perfect time to survey them!

Trevor also spoke to ABC Sunshine Coast radio all about platypus, their ecology, threats, our platypus monitoring program and the first recorded sighting of platypus in the South Maroochy river for 25 years.
