Our Story

Our story began in 1992 as Maroochy Waterwatch, a community based organisation engaged in the protection and enhancement of the Maroochy River catchment and region. In 2016 we became ECOllaboration and have continued this legacy of strategic planning activities for the broader Maroochy catchment area and our work actively improving the health of the River and surrounds.

We are now a robust and experienced environmental consultancy with over 60 staff across South East Queensland, spanning the Sunshine Coast, Somerset and Scenic Rim council areas. Our areas of expertise include environmental restoration, geographic information systems, aquatic ecology, habitat inventory and mapping, community and stakeholder liaison, environmental education and a whole lot more.

Our Waterwatch legacy is reflected in our Community Water Monitoring program, now one of the longest running citizen science programs in Queensland. We are proud 30+ years on to still be an integral part of our community and provide education, restoration and advocacy for protecting our environment.
